Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., stated, "We sold 20,518 tractors in the domestic market in August 2024, a 1% drop over last year. The Southwest monsoon brought surplus rainfall to the central, western, and southern states, although some areas like Bihar and Punjab still had deficient rainfall. Kharif sowing has progressed well, boosting farmer sentiment. Higher crop prices and increased MSP for major Kharif crops have further lifted spirits. With budget support and favourable trade terms, the festive season looks promising for the tractor industry. In the export market, we sold 1,399 tractors, a 36% growth over last year."
